Cucina Italiana

The one closest to my house is located in Menara Karya, ground floor, Jalan Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Jakarta. It is originally came from Bali. Sadly, I wasn't able to dine inside the restaurant because there was private party so I didn't know what the restaurant interior looked like :(

For starters, I really didn't know what it is, looks like a bruchetta *we didn't order this, it was a compliment* it's so good, the crunchy baked bread and the cool fresh tomatoes. Is this what we call a salsa sauce? I have to get hold of this recipe.

Pizza Capricciosa: tomato sauce, black olive, ham, cheese, italian sausage and.... artichoke? I know what artichoke looks like but never ate it. I didn't realize it is even in the pizza. Odd. But it is soooo good.

I extra ordered this, I'm a sucker for tomato soup. It is such a mood booster, and this one didn't fail. The true taste of tomato in your mouth was just awesome, with little bits of the tomato skin.

It is tortellini drenched in cream sauce with ham. THIS WAS THE BEST. Creamy with the right amount of saltiness and savory from the ham. My only problem was the pasta itself. It wasn't hard, not soft enough for my satisfaction.

Mine is this Penne Alla carbonara with salmon. It was ... unexpected. I didn't like it. Salmon and pasta just don't get along. The salmon and the sause is nice but eaten with pasta, it is just wrong. Plus, I have a problem with the pasta. Not soft enough!

The seafood-pasta continues with this Spaghetti Alle Vongole. This one was also unexpected, in a good way. It's not your average Italian style pasta. It is actually pretty good, exotic because of the clams, I suppose.

The pasta ranges from around 40.000-50.000 IDR. The main course such as the steaks go for about 60.000-80.000 IDR. So beware, not your regular meal! I have to say, honestly, the service wasn't good *the waiter forgot my order, brought me a wrong order, put in an order I didn't order* but it was full so I really don't bother.

Is it the best pasta? Not in my opinion. I have to have better luck with ordering the next time around, I suppose.

always,
hana.
