Road Trip - 2

DAY 2

After breakfast and more HBO, we went around Kuningan to see what it is like. There weren't really anything to see, since we don't have a map. So we continue to Cirebon.

The traffic is just like Jakarta, especially near markets and shopping places. We stumbled upon this eatery.

Nasi Lengko Pagongan, on Pagongan street.
It's rice with bean sprouts, tofu, tempe, cucumber, with peanut sauce.
not my favorite, though.

We searched for Gramedia so we can buy a map of Cirebon. Found it here:

That's GRAGE MALL. [oh my, a MALL!] but it is very crowded.
It's chaotic and just turned me off.

Next to more shopping. Found this shop selling dried seafood via the internet.

Toko PANGESTU on Sukalila Selatan. You can find seafood in a jar!
anyway, every kind of abon, ebi, dendeng, all that jazz.

But the place we wanted to find so badly was, of course, Toko Sinta~

Every kind of MANISAN. I forget the true definition of Manisan ..

TOKO SINTA in Lemahwungkul.

Didn't do much on the night. Oh, there were excellent restaurant near the hotel : LAKSANA and one that I can't remember what it's name. BUT, it always very busy and full. Book ahead! Otherwise you'll end up like me, eating noodles in a cup. whoa.

DAY 3

went back to Cirebon to Tresmi, the place for Cirebon Batik. It's outside the city so ask for directions. Tresmi is a street with Batik stores lining the street. Some offers 'pakaian jadi' but there are several exclusive ones. Like Batik Masina. It mainly offers batik cloths. And the best thing was you can see how Batiks are made, right there at the shop! We also went to Ninik Ichsan, also offers Batik cloths.
