a bowl of goodness: ....and the Show Goes on.

Asterix et Obelix Contre Cesar is Teater Tarakanita 1's 18th production, held in Graha Bakti Budaya, TIM, 22nd-23rd January. They inovated the original story with their own twist and jokes, making it a long, but fun, stage play.

The story is about of course, the villagers of Galia, which are renowned for their super strength. Cesar wanted to rule Galia but couldn't face the powerful villagers. He captured the village's hermit (isn't it?) in order to get to the core of their powers and finally destroy them. Secretly, one of Cesar's allies wanted all the Roman glory of himself, and declared himself as the new, better Cesar. But in the end, both the Galias and Julius Cesar defeated the newbie, therefore lived side by side.

I watched The Sound of Music, their previous production, last year, and from then on I was astonished by them. They're high school students, just like me and people at my school! With help from the professional, they can make an awesome and memorable show.

I absolutely love the stage props. There were a lot of blackouts and stage changes. There were also cool features, a tree house at the side of the stage, and a some kind of Cesar's place on the right corner. It was basically a stage made on top of the seats of the theater! That's genius! Oh, I wish I took some pictures; it was too dark; didn't bring a digital camera.

I have to say the first act went just a little boring. There were some points when I thought, 'The story is not moving, what are they doing?' But they put a lot of jokes and funny impersonations; and not just jokes, but critics for the real world. That's awesome.

I hope they keep doing what they're doing. Teater Tarakanita rocks!
